Someone argues that high-voltage power lines actually waste more energy. He points out that the rate at which internal energy is produced in a wire is given by (ΔV) 2/R, where R is the resistance of the wire. Therefore, the higher the voltage, the higher the energy waste what if anything is wrong with his argument?
